Leah M. Knowles, 103, daughter of John and Ella McMannus Criol, was born September 5, 1880, in Milton, Iowa, and she passed away October 16, 1983, in the Macon Sumaritan Hospital, Macon, Missouri.

She was united in marriage to H.C. Knowles, August 7, 1898, at Milton, Iowa, and to this marriage two children were born.

She was preceded in death by her husband in 1961, her parents; one son, Mark, who died in infancy; one daughter, Alleine; one great-grandson; three sisters, and two brothers.

She is survived by six grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren.

She was a member of the Christian Church, Harrisberg, Missouri.

Services were Tuesday, October 18, 1983, 10:00 a.m. in the Payne-Gerth Funeral Chapel, Memphis, Missouri. Rev. Kenneth Campbell officiating. Burial was in the Sunny Side Cemetery, Milton, Iowa.
