Horace I. Johnson

Horace I. Johnson, 96, of 10700 Hillcrest, Kansas City, Missouri, passes away Thursday, May 25, 1978, at Baptist Memorial Hospital, Kansas City, Missouri.

He was born in Grafton, Nebraska, a son of E.W. Johnson and Elizabeth Ingram Johnson.

Mr. Johnson had lived in Burlington, Iowa, Memphis, Missouri, and Milton, Iowa, before moving to the Kansas City area five years ago, at which time he made his home with a daughter, Edna Pennington. Mr. Johnson was a farmer and he and his wife, Agnes, resided on a farm north of Memphis, on Highway 15 for over 20 years. He retired from farming in 1968. He was a former county judge of Scotland County, Missouri. He was a Methodist.

He leaves to mourn his passing, Mrs. Edna Pennington, of Kansas City, Missouri; four grandsons and nine great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Agnes, in 1967.

Funeral services were held May 26, 1978, at 8 p.m. in the George Funeral Home, Grandview, Missouri. Graveside services were held May 27, at 2 p.m., at the Aspen Grove Cemetery, Burlington, Iowa. Rev. Terry Diehl officiated at the Funeral Services and Rev. Floyd Cripps officiated at the graveside services. Music was by Mr. Billy Jack, soloist and Mrs. Bernice Collins was organist.
