Lem C. Jarvis
Lem C. Jarvis, 82, route 6, Bloomfield, died at 6:15 p.m. Thursday at the Davis County Hospital.
A retired farmer, he was born March 10, 1895 in Davis County to Stephen and Louella Inskeep Jarvis. He had been a lifelong Davis County resident.
He was a member of the Pleasant Grove Baptist Church. He married Blanche Speer on July 29, 1917 in Schuyler County, Mo. She died in 1969.
Survivors include a son, Gilbert of Des Moines; four daughters, LaVeta Aeschliman of Bloomfield, Bonnie Bullock of Oskaloosa, Loretta Augspurger of Muscatine, and Jean Whisler of Pulaski; two sisters, Lenna Daniel and Marie Pflanz, both of Bloomfield; 12 grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were held Sunday at the Wagler Funeral Home, conducted by the Rev. Lowell Newland. Burial was in the IOOF Cemetery.
