Norma Jarr

Norma L. Jarr, 68, Bloomfield, died at 1:45 p.m. Jan. 28, 1993, at the Bloomfield Care Center.

She was born Aug. 29, at Nichols to Arthur and Verda Cochran LaRue. She married Harlan Jarr on March 18, 1944 in Muscatine.

They lived in Muscatine prior to moving to a farm southwest of Selma in March 1958. They moved to Bloomfield in July 1992. She was a homemaker and worked at Eldon Senior Citizen meal site. She was affiliated with Eldon Congregational Church.

She is survived by her husband; three sons, Harlan Jr. of Douds, LaVaun of Selma and Douglas of Floris; three daughters, Anita Lanman of Bloomfield, Yvonne Major of Davenport; and Debra Jarr of Evansville, Minn.; 13 grandchildren; two brothers, Vernon and LaVaun LaRue of Muscatine; and four sisters, Lillian McCormick, Leona Maylone, Phyllis Thompson and Sharon Jones of Muscatine.

She was preceded in death by her parents; a brother, William LaRue; two sisters, Virginia Cushman and Shirley Otto; a granddaughter, Laura Lanman, and a great-granddaughter, Samantha Jarr.

Funeral services were held Jan. 31, 1993 at the Eldon Congregational Church with the Rev. David Albert officiating. Burial was in the IOOF Cemetery in Bloomfield.

Memorials may be left at the funeral home.

Pedrick Funeral Home in Douds was in charge of the arrangements.
