ELLIS HUMBERT

Ellis Scott Humbert was born March 2, 1908 to Scott Lee and Sarah Taylor Humbert in Milton, Iowa. He graduated from the Milton High School in 1927 and attended Drake University in Des Moines, State University in Iowa City, and Southern Methodist in Dallas, Texas. He was married to Dorothy Drew in 1927, who survives. They moved to Dallas, Texas where he worked for the Texas State Highway Department for 35 years. He was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Richardson, Texas where he was living at the time of death. He had been ill since February when he underwent brain surgery. His survivors besides his widow are Lee Drew Humbert of Farmers Branch, Texas, Miss Sue Humbert of Richardson, Sharon Humbert Shaw of Dallas, three grandsons, two sisters, Mrs. Ethel Snyder of Whittier, Calif., and Mrs. Gail Workman of Dallas, two nieces, Mrs. Gale Gall Adams of Elmonte, Calif., and Mrs. Malcome Wentz of Whittier, Calif. He worked in his church filling many offices and was Boy Scout leader for many years. He passed away July 31, 1972 and was buried at Rest Land Cemetery in Dallas August 2, 1972.
