KENNETH V. GOODEN
Kenneth V. Gooden, 69, of Route 2, Memphis, Missouri, died at 6:15 a.m., Sunday September 7, 1986, in the Davis County Hospital, Bloomfield, Iowa.
He was born in Davis County, Iowa, April 2, 1917, the son of Earl E. and Delpha M. Lasley Gooden. He married Alice Marie Hissem on August 18, 1937, at Memphis, Missouri. he farmed for 38 years in the Milton, Iowa area and in 1975 moved to their present home near Memphis, Missouri.
Kenneth was a member of the First Christian Church, Memphis, Missouri.
He is survived by his wife, Marie; two sons, Gary P. Gooden and wife, Sharon, Ottumwa, Iowa, Roger A. Gooden of Oakland, California; two daughters, Linda Bunch and husband, John, Memphis, Missouri, and Glenda Creath and husband, Larry, of Floris, Iowa; eight grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. He is also survived by two brothers, Laverne of Ottumwa and Robert of Milton, Iowa.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Estle.
Services were held on Wednesday, September 10, 1986, at 2 p.m. at the First Christian Church in Memphis, Missouri. Rev. Kenneth Campbell officiating. Burial was at the Sunny Side Cemetery in Milton, Iowa. Pall bearers were grandsons, K. Alan Bunch, John Creath, Jeff Griffiths, Brian Armstrong, Gary Hague and Scott Swaim. Honorary pallbearers were nephews. Arrangements by the Payne-Gerth Funeral Home, Memphis, Missouri.
