EDGAR EARL GOODEN
Edgar Earl Gooden, age 80 years, 10 months and 24 days passed away at the Bloomfield Manor in Bloomfield, Iowa on the morning of Monday, June 4th. He had been in failing health for quite some time.
Earl was born on August 10, 1898 to David and Mary Harl Gooden in Scotland Co., Mo.
On September 6, 1916 he was united in marriage to Delphia Lasley. She preceded him in death on January 17, 1964.
Earl spent most of his life farming out on South Prairie. He was a member of the Milton Christian Church.
He is survived by four sons, Kenneth of Memphis, Mo.; LaVerne of Ottumwa and Estle and Robert, both of Milton, 13 grandchildren, nieces, nephews and a host of friends. He was preceeded in death by his parents, wife, 2 brothers and 4 sisters.
Funeral services were held on Wednesday, June 6, in the Christian Church of Milton with the Rev. Richard Falletti officiating.
Burial was in the Sunnyside Cemetery of Milton. Priester Funeral Chapel of Milton was in charge of arrangements. Visitation was held in the Funeral Chapel of Milton on Tuesday evening. Memorials were established to go to the Church and to the Heart Fund.
