Eva E. Gooden, 83, route 2, Bloomfield, died at 1:03 a.m. Wednesday at the Davis County Hospital.

A homemaker, she was born near Stiles on March 2, 1900 to John and Albert and Martha Belle Gordy Stookesberry. She was a resident of Davis County all of her life and was a member of the Missionary Baptist church in Pleasant Grove, Mo.

She married John Albert Gooden on Feb. 12, 1928 in Centerville. He died Nov. 26, 1979.

Survivors include one sister, Luverna Stookesberry of Oskaloosa; and one niece, Blanche Graves of Bloomfield.

Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Friday at the Wagler Funeral Home, conducted by the Rev. Clinton Spilman. Burial will be in the Inskeep Cemetery in Davis County.
