Amy Gooden

Amy M. Gooden, daughter of Frank and Emma Hopp Pundt, was born March 29, 1900, near Cantril, Iowa, and passed away June 3, 1976, Memphis, Missouri, due to a car accident, which took her life and her husband's life. She was 76 years, 2 months and 4 days of age.

She was united in marriage to Earl Cone June 26, 1918, and to this union one daughter, Helen, was born. Earl preceded her in death, June 20, 1953. They lived on a farm northwest of Memphis, until 1958, when she moved to Downing, Missouri.

On February 5, 1954, she was married to Arthur Caddell, who passed away February 26, 1965.

She was married to Glen Gooden, February 3, 1966.

Surviving are her daughter, Mrs. Floyd (Helen) Baker, and son-in-law, Floyd; two grandsons, Floyd Cone Baker and wife, Pat, and James Dale Baker, and wife, Linda; four great-grandchildren, Melissa Dawn, Shelly Renee, Jamie Sue and Amy Sue Baker; one nephew, Phillip Cone and wife Helen of Memphis; two step-sons, Richard Gooden, and wife Willa Mae of Downing, and Robert Gooden and wife, Judy, of Memphis; two step-grandsons, Michael and Jimmy Gooden.

She united with the Methodist Church at Upton at the age of sixteen.

She was a loving wife, mother and grandmother and will be missed by all who knew her.

Funeral services were held Saturday, June 5, 1976, in the Downing Baptist Church, at 2:00 p.m. with the Rev. Lowell Newland officiating. Burial was in the Richland Cemetery. Body bearers were Leroy Morgan, Bill Patton, Harold Davis, Stanley Bull, Lavern Harris, and Troy W. Moffett. Arrangement by the Gerth & Baskett Funeral Home, Memphis, and Paynes Funeral Home of Downing.
