Archibald Mc Donald born at Fort Madison Dec. ? 1844 and died at Bonaporte [sic] 12/9/1909 age 65 years 5 days. Was oldest son of Charles & Martha Mc Donald Four years later to farm Harrisberg [sic] Twp. Van Buren Co. After Teaching several terms to California. Returned to Van Buren Co. in Baraboo, Wisc. Married 11/10/1874 to Mary L. Rehkopt [sic] of Bentensport [sic]. One Daughter, Mrs. Madeline Dunn of Kansas City, Mo. Wife died Sept 26, 1876 at Bentous [sic]. He then Married Miss Cora L. Brown of Bentous [sic] Feb., ?, 1882. Three Children were born – Brown Archibald, Gertrude Alston, and Martha E. (who died infancy). In 1877 in Texas & next year to Colorado where he taught, in 1881 he succeeded Wm. J. Johnson in the firm Christy & Johnson. He had 6 sisters and three brothers. His ?? father died July 8, 1876 & mother 11/19/1899. Survive his widow, one son Brown A., Two daughters, Mrs. Madeline Dunn & Mrs Gertrude Tade (and 2 grandsons), 2 Sisters Miss Mattee [sic] Mc Donald and Mrs. Charles E. Rau of Mason City, Iowa. 2 brothers Charles W. of Council Bluffs, Iowa and Robert E. of Harrisburg Twp Van Buren Co. Also mentioned Mr. & Mrs. Charles Rau, Mason City, Iowa, Mrs. Hattie Greef & Arthur Greef of Fairfield & AM Sinton, Keokuk.
