Jalina M. Kemmer, 89 of Kahoka [MO], died Monday Jan. 12, 1998 in Keokuk Area Hospital.
Born March 20, 1908 in Cantril, Iowa, Mrs. Kemmer was a daughter of Geroge H. and Iva Juanita Murphy Baird. She married Werner K. Kemmer on Nov. 4, 1928 in Edina, MO. He died April 9, 1980.
Mrs. Kemmer was a graduate of Gem City Business College in Quincy, Ill, and had been employed by the Moore Business Forsm, formerly of Kahoka and Morgan Oil Co., in Alexandria and retired from Johnson-Schmidt clothing store in Keokuk. She and her husband had farmed near Wyaconda and Keokuk. She was a member of Seventh-Day Adventist Church, formerly in Keokuk.
Survivors include two daughters, Mrs. Juanita Parsons of Columbus, GA., and Mrs. Lynn (Helen) Daniel of Indianapolis; two brothers, Richard Baird of East Moline, Ill., and Frederick Baird of Colorado Springs, CO; four sisters, Lillie Garrett and Mary Schultz both of St. Louis; Lelah Schultz of Jefferson City, and Gerogia Mohr of Farmington, IA; four grandchildren, Arthur, Joseph and Iva Parsons and Sharan Daniel; three great grandchildren; and nieces and nephews.
Services will be conducted at 1:30 P.M. Thursday in the Wilson Funeral Home in Kahoka by the Rev. Ernest Deatrick. Burial will be in Wyaconda Cemetery. Visitation will be held today with family meeting friends from 6-8 tonight. Memorials may be made to the donor's choice.
