James Garmon

James Edward Garmon, 55, route 4, Bloomfield, died Thursday morning at his home.

He was born Sept. 3, 1928 in Ottumwa to Joseph and Ruth Manford Garmon. He had been a mechanic at Bloomfield Machinery, Inc. since October 1977 and worked at Mikel's Inc. prior to that.

He was a veteran of the Korean War and a member of the American Legion Reed-Whisler Post 78. He was also a member of the Pulaski United Methodist Church.

He married Deloris McEldowney on Dec. 20, 1950 in Pulaski.

Survivors include his wife; his mother of Bloomfield; three daughters, Donna Garmon of Ottumwa, Sandy Garmon at home, and Joy Rupe of Springfield, Ore.; a son, Mike of Pulaski; a sister, Nellie Guinn of Milton; and seven grandchildren.

The funeral was held Saturday at the Wagler Funeral Home, conducted by the Rev. Marilyn Butler. Burial was in the Pulaski Cemetery with military rites.
