Goldie F. Fisher

Goldie Floy Fisher, daughter of William C. and Mary Holcomb Strait, was born Oct. 25, 1890 in Van Buren County and died the evening of Friday, Nov. 30, 1984 in the long term care unit of Davis County Hospital, Bloomfield, at the age of 94.

She graduated from Keosauqua High School in 1909 and taught school for ten years.

On April 24, 1919 she married Clarence W. Fisher in Milton. He died February 10, 1965. Also preceding her in death were a daughter, Helen Ardis Barker, two brothers, Lee and Sam Strait and two sisters, Faye Roush and Chloe Price.

Remaining to cherish her memory are a son, Lloyd of Bloomfield, two daughters, Mavis Stookesberry, Milton, and Mary Louise Campbell, Keosauqua, other relatives and friends.

Mrs. Fisher lived her life in the Lebanon-Milton area.

She was a member of the Presbyterian Church and the Milton American Legion Auxiliary.

Funeral services were held Monday, Dec. 3, 1984 at 2 p.m. in the Grace United Methodist Church, with Rev. Charles Butler officiating. Interment was in the Lebanon Cemetery. Arrangements were in charge of Pedrick Funeral Home. Memorials to the Lebanon Cemetery may be left at the funeral home.
