ORA BUXTON

Ora Theodore Buxton was born in Moultrie County, near Sullivan, Ill., Feb. 2, 1907, and passed away at the Davis County hospital in Bloomfield, Feb. 21, 1963. He was the son of Fred and Sofrona Buxton.

He was a member of the Jonathan Creek Christian church near Sullivan, and transferred his membership to the Cantril Christian church in 1950, where he had been an active worker. He had been an elder of the church for the past eight years.

On Feb. 14, 1935, he was united in marriage to Esther Louise Goddard, who survives. The Buxtons moved to their farm south of Cantril in 1950, having come from Illinois.

Besides his wife, he is survived by two sons, Ted of Milton and Richard at home; one daughter, Linda at home; one daughter-in-law, Bonnie Jean and one grandson, Teddy Eugene, jr.; four brothers, Jerry, Mike and George Buxton, all of Sullivan, Ill., and Bonnie Buxton of Phoenix, Ariz.; one sister, Mrs. Edna Jeffers of Jacksonville, Ill., and many other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his father and mother, and one brother, Edson Buxton.

Funeral services were held in the Cantril Christian church Feb. 23. Herbert C. Shaw, minister, officiated. Lowell Paulson, Minister of the Milton Christian church was the soloist, accompanied by Mrs. H.C. Shaw.

Services were also held at the Jonathan Creek Christian church near Sullivan, Ill., Feb. 24, with Ron Frazier, minister, officiating. Burial was in Green Lawn Cemetery in Sullivan.
