Vera Burrows

Vera Mabel Burrows, the daughter of W. George and Minnie Lee Hardman Campbell, was born July 16, 1898, in Downing, Missouri and she passed away February 9, 1983, in the Henry County Health Care Center in Mt. Pleasant, Iowa.

She was united in marriage to Joseph Bryan Burrows, April 26, 1917, in Bloomfield, Iowa. To this union six children were born.

She was preceded in death by her husband; one son, Lowell Eugene; her parents, four brothers, Pearl, Earl, Ward, and Robert Campbell, one sister, Mrs. Blanche Warning.

Survivors include two daughters, Mrs. Marylee Dickson of Mt. Pleasant, Iowa, Mrs. Eileen Powell and husband, Max, of Memphis, Missouri; three sons, Joe D. Burrows of Memphis, Missouri, Robert L. and wife, Helen Burrows of Sheffield, Alabama, and Gary Wayne Burrows and wife, Mary Lou, of Farmington, Iowa; Fifteen grandchildren and eighteen great-grandchildren; one sister, Mrs. Carolyn Casady and husband Craig, of Burlington, Iowa, Mrs. Doris Vore, Winnebago, Minnesota.

She was a member of the Richland Baptist Church.

Funeral services were held Saturday, February 12, 1983 at 1 p.m. from the Payne-Gerth Chapel in Memphis, Missouri. The Rev. Ernest Deatrick officiated. Burial was in the Memphis Cemetery. Organist was Ann Luther and Kenneth Campbell was soloist. Body bearers were Dick Johnson, Raymond Campbell, Mike Powell, Jr. Snodgrass, Larry Campbell and Ray Joyce.
