LEIGH E. McDONALD

Leigh E. McDonald, 67, of New London, Iowa, died at 7:50 p.m. Wednesday, June 23, 1971 in the Henry County Memorial Hospital at Mt. Pleasant, Iowa.

He was born Nov. 21, 1903 at Danville, Iowa, the son of Frank and Lucy Spiedel McDonald.

On may 23, 1929 he was married to Hazel Anderson at West Burlington, Iowa.

He was of Catholic faith and a retired farmer.

Surviving are his wife; one daughter, Mrs. William (Virginia) McLachland of new Londan; a brother, Paul McDonald of Bonaparte, Iowa; five grandchildren and one great-grandchild. Preceding him in death were his parents.

Funeral services were held at 10 a.m. Monday, June 28 from the Alphonsus Catholic Church, Mt. Pleasant. The Rev. Paul Albers officiated. Interment was in Pleasant Grove Cemetery, near New London.
