Goldie Miller

Beulah Golden Miller, daughter of Elisha E. and Martha Ryland Miller was born Feb. 16, 1889 on the farm north of Bonaparte and departed this life June 21, 1971 at the Van Buren County Memorial Hospital in Keosauqua.

Her entire life was spent on the farm where she was born. She devoted her time to relatives, friends, flowers, livestock and her pets. She was happiest when she was working with anything related to nature. After her brother Byron passed away in 1955, she managed the farm, which to her was a challenge and a joy.

Very few people are more dedicated to a religion than Goldie was to hers. Though she never joined a church, no Sabbath Day passed without her own religious service in which she read her Bible, played the piano and sang hymns.

She was preceded in death by her parents; six brothers, Glenn, Clayton, Frank, Byron, Boyd and Benny; and two sisters, Elsie and Grace. She leaves to mourn her passing three sisters, Elizabeth Fuller of West Des Moines, Marjorie Lindsay and Faye Dawson of Bonaparte. She is also survived by many nieces, nephews, cousins and a host of friends.

Funeral services were held Wednesday, June 23, at 2 p.m. in the Baptist Church in Bonaparte.

Pall bearers were Ira Warner, Forrest Wilson, Carl Wilson, Stan Miller, Kenneth Warner and Brown Moore.
