Wortha E. Wallingford

The funeral service for Wortha E. Wallingford, 87, of Farmington, who died Thursday, May 27 at 11:50 p.m. at his home five miles south of Farmington, was held Sunday at 2 p.m. in the Anson Community church. The Rev. Bruce Tonkinson officiated. Burial was in the Anson cemetery. Miller-Hofbauer Funeral Home, Farmington, was in charge.

He was born April 12, 1884 near Farmington, the son of James and Fannie Talbott Wallingford.

A retired farmer, Mr. Wallingford spent his entire life on the home farm in the Anson, Mo. Community church.

He married Mary Mayfield in 1905. She preceded him in death. He married Hattie Peacock in 1917. She also preceded him in death.

Surviving are two sons, Charles and Robert, both of Farmington; three daughters, Mrs. Ivan (Mable) Lee, and Mrs. Harley (Helen) Seth, both of Farmington, and Mrs. Paul (Lois) Rider of Hilliard, Ohio; one sister, Mrs. Elizabeth Schee of Phoenix, Ariz.; 16 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by one daughter, Vera.
