The following clipping was sent to us by Vona E. Reynolds of Boise, Idaho.

Services for John Fred (Jack) Denotn, 77, Caldwell, Idaho, a former Van Buren County resident, who died Tuesday morning, May 11, in a Caldwell hospital, was conducted at 2 p.m. Friday at Flahiff Funeral Chapel by the Rev. Davis S. Smith of the First United Methodist Church. Interment was at Canyon Hill.

He was born Nov. 30, 1893, in Olive Branch, Ill., a son of Joseph and Irene Palmer Denton. He was reared there. He farmed before coming to Idaho in 1948 and located at Boise. He had Purple Sage, Collister, and Troy's taverns. He married Elta Auker in 1954 in Winnemucca, Nev. The couple had lived in Caldwell since then. He was employed at Canyon Hill Cemetery for three years before retiring in 1961.

Survivors include his wife; two stepsons, Donald Gepford of Caldwell and Jay Dee Gepford of Littleton, Colo.; four step daughters, Mrs. La Vonne Star of Nampa, Mrs. Wilma White of Mooresville, Ind., Mrs. Lois Gibson of Rainier, Wash., and Mrs. Shirley Guild of Newport News, Va.; 20 stepgrandchildren and 12 stepgreat-grandchildren.
