Clay Richard Daugherty

Clay Richard Daugherty, 50, Mt. Sterling, died Saturday at 12:30 p.m. at Van Buren County Hospital in Keosauqua.

He was born October 6, 1920, the son of Morison and Sarah Jane Harding Daugherty in Davis County.

He had been a farmer in Van Buren County for the past 30 years. He was affiliated with the Mt. Sterling United Methodist Church.

He was married to Marilyn Biggs on April 18, 1943, at Memphis, Mo. She survives.

Also surviving are three sons, Donald, Clifford, and Teddy, all of Mt. Sterling; one foster daughter, Mrs. Penney Feagin, of Clute, Texas; one brother, Max Daugherty, of Phoenix, Araiz.; three sisters, Mrs. Ethel Stater, of Mt. Pleasant, Mrs. Iva Martin of Las Vegas, Nev. and Mrs. Bernice Buss, of Half Moon Bay, Calif. and two grandchildren.

Funeral services were held Tuesday at 2:30 p.m. at the Mt. Sterling United Methodist Church. The Rev. Church officiated.

Burial was in the Harness Cemetery in Mt. Sterling.
