Hollis Hervey

The funeral service for Hollis Hervey, 28, of Indianapolis was held at 3 p.m. Wednesday at the Latter Day Saints Chapel in Keosauqua, with burial in Oak Lawn Cemetery. President Richard Boyer was in charge.

Mr. Hervey, a former rural Keosauqua resident, was killed in a two-car head-on crash at the south edge of Indianapolis at 10:30 p.m. Saturday.

His wife, the former Darlene Gano, 27, of rural Keosauqua, is in serious condition in Methodist Hospital, Indianapolis, with a broken nose, jaw and cheekbones and other facial injuries.

Drive of the other car involved was also killed.

He was born April 16, 1943 at Donnellson, the son of Robert W. and Helen Hervey. A 1960 graduate of Keosauqua High School, he received his B.S. degree in electrical engineering from Iowa State University in 1964.

For the past seven years he had been employed as an electrical engineer with Radio Corporation of America at Indianapolis.

Mr. Hervey is survived by his parents, his widow, and three children, Elizabeth Ann, 6; Robert, 4, and Helen, 1; one brother, Roger Hervey of Des Moines; three sisters, Mrs. James Leuck of North Manchester, Ind., Mrs. James Wiley of Milton and Mrs. James P. Clark of Minneapolis, Minn.

He was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, Indianapolis Third Ward, and was second councillor of the bishopric of his church.

Pedricks Funeral Home in Douds was in charge of arrangements.
