Lee J. Workman

Lee J. Workman, 75, died at 6:30 a.m. Friday in Van Buren County Memorial Hospital where he had been a patient since Monday.

The son of John and Myrtle Barker Workman, he was born Sept. 8, 1895 at Norton, Kansas. On January 11, 1923 he married Faye Maxwell in Ottumwa. They spent all of their married life in the Mt. Zion area. They moved to Fairfield in February. He was a veteran of Word(World) War I and a member of the Beer-Barker American Legion Post.

He is survived by his widow; a daughter, Mrs. Betty Hasty of Shephersville, Ky.; six grandchildren; 2 great grandchildren, a brother, Clarence Workman of Bonaparte.

The body was taken to the Catcott Funeral Home in Keosauqua, where funeral services were held Monday with the Rev. Millard Marshall with the Rev. Millard Marshall officiating. Burial was in Kilbourne cemetery.
