Clarence R. Workman

Clarence R. Workman, 73, of Bonaparte died Sunday, April 25, at 2:50 a.m. at his home in Bonaparte. Death was unexpected.

He was born May 16, 1897 at Almena, Kans., the son of John B. and Myrtle Barker Workman.

He married Dorothy Hogan on June 28, 1938 at Bonaparte, and she survives.

A Bonaparte resident for 50 years, he was a coal miner. Mr. Workman was a member of the First Baptist church, Bonaparte, and a 50 year member of the American Legion. He was a W.W. I veterna.

Surviving in addition to the widow are the one son, Clarence E. of Hillsboro; and two daughters, Carolyn Rex of Hopkins, Minn. and Velda Workman of Charles City and four grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, one daughter, and one brother.

The funeral will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday in the Baptist church at Bonaparte with the Rev. Gerald Ogden officiating. Burial will be in the Bonaparte cemetery.

The Miller-Hofbauer Funeral Home in Farmington is in charge of arrangements.
