Mrs. William Scharpman

Mrs. William (Loretta) Scharpman, 55, of West Point died Thursday, April 1, at 1:45 p.m. in Sacred Heart hospital, Fort Madison. She had been seriously ill the past four days.

She was born April 3, 1915 at West Point and was a life resident. She married William Scharpman May 14, 1946 in St. Mary's Catholic Church, West Point, and was a member of the church and its Altar Society. She was a member of the American Legion auxiliary, West Point.

She is survived by her husband; her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Lawrence Fedler; two brothers, Virgil Fedler and Lester Fedler, all of West Point; and one sister, Mrs. Keith (Irene) Slater of What Cheer, Iowa.

The funeral service was held Monday, April 5, at 10 a.m. in St. Mary's Catholic Church, West Point. The Rev. Francis Lenoch officiated. Link Funeral Home at West Point was in charge of arrangements. The recitation of the Rosary was held there on Saturday, April 3 at 8 p.m. and Sunday at 3 p.m. by the Altar and Rosary Society and Sunday at 8 p.m. by the parish followed by the Knights of Columbus.
