Harvey N. Boley

Harvey N. Boley, son of Mark and Dora Campbell Boley, was born Jan. 29, 1893 near Hillsboro and died March 5, 1971 at the Jefferson County Hospital, Fairfield, at the age of 78 years.

He was married Sept. 2, 1919 to Beatrice Dodds, she died Feb. 10, 1961. On Jan. 20, 1967, he married Mrs. Virgil Chipman of Bonaparte.

He was a retired farmer, living his entire life in the Hillsboro and Bonaparte community. He was president of the Van Buren County Telephone Company many years, also a member of the F.O.E. Lodge of Fairfield.

Surviving are his wife; one daughter, Mrs. Bernard Coop of Fairfield; two sons, Robert of Cedar Rapids and Dale, near Hillsboro; one step-daughter, Mrs. Powell Taapken of Ft. Madison; a foster brother, Mark B. McCoy of Keosauqua; 10 grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

Funeral services were held Tuesday, March 9, at 2 p.m. at the Hillsboro Baptist Church. The Rev. Charles Grooms officiated. Burial was in the Hillsboro cemetery.
