Mrs. Joseph Welding

Mrs. Joseph (Irene) Welding, 68, of West Point, died Sunday, March 14, at 2:15 p.m. at Holy Cross hospital Pompano Beach, Florida. She had been in failing health the past nine months.

She was born Feb. 9, 1903, at Zenda, Kansas, the daughter of George and Anna Dierker Kempker.

She has been a resident of West Point for 30 years.

Her marriage to Joseph Welding took place on October 24, 1928, in West Point, Nebraska. He survives.

She was a member of St. Mary's Catholic church, West Point and the Altar and Rosary Society of that church.

In addition to her husband, she is survived by three sons, James and Thomas, both of West Point, George of Fort Madisong(err) three daughters - Mrs. James (Joan) Greene of Estherville, Mrs. Eugene (Anna Marie) Pint of Elgin, Ill., Mrs. Clarence (Mary Lou) Perry of Fairfield; two brothers, Frank Kempker of Fort Madison and the Rev. George Kempker of Omaha, Nebr.; two sisters, Mrs. Karl Hoffman of Algona, and Mrs. Jack Corrigan of Pompano Beach, Florida; and 26 grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents and two brothers.

The funeral service will be held Thursday, March 18, at 10 a.m. in St. Mary's Catholic church, West Point. The Rev. Francis Lenock will officiate. Burial will be in Calvary cemetery, West Point. The body is at the Link Funeral Home, West Point, where the recitation of the Rosary was held Wednesday at 3 p.m. by the Altar and Rosary Society and again Wednesday at 8 p.m. by the parish.
