Ira Bonnett

Ira Bonnett, 79, longtime resident of the Fairfield Community, died at 6 p.m. Thursday, March 4 at the Nelson Nursing Home. His death followed a lengthy illness.

Last rites were Monday, March 8 at 2 p.m. at the Weston Behner Funeral Home with the Rev. Melburn Sorenson officiating. Burial was in Evergreen Cemetery.

Ira W. Bonnett was born July 17, 1891, in Van Buren County, the son of Charles and Matilda Wade Bonnett. He was married to Bertha McCarty.

Survivors include one son, Harold Bonnett, Seattle, Wash.; also two brothers and two sisters, Hary, Ottumwa; Lester, Ogden, Utah; Mrs. Lessie Yerion, Libertyville; and Mrs. Lottie Lowe, Sarasota, Florida.

He was preceded in death by one brother and one sister.
