Lynn E. Huff

Lynn Everett Huff, 52, of Ft. Madison, died unexpectedly at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, March 2 in Sacred Heart hospital. He had been ill one week.

Mr. Huff was born Feb. 21, 1919, at Bonaparte. He had lived in Fort Madison for 25 years and was employed during that span at the Fort Madison DuPont Co. plant.

On July 4, 1953, at Burlington, he married Mary E. McQuitty, who survives.

Mr. Huff was a member of the Methodist church, the Loyal Order of Moose, the Izaak Walton League and the Fort Madison Gun Club. He was a veteran of World War II.

Besides his wife, he is survived by his mother, Mrs. Jennie Hunter Huff of Fort Madison; a step-son, Vernon Ayes of Fort Madison; three brothers, Stanley Huff of Corning, Iowa, Carroll Huff of Keosauqua, and Marvin Huff of Monmouth, Ill.; three sisters, Mrs. Jack (Mildred) Mason of Fort Madison, Mrs. Thomas (Edythe) Pugh of Midland, Texas, and Mrs. Margaret Schlicher of Hammond, La.; and a step-grandchild and several nephews, nieces and cousins.

He was preceded in death by his father, James Everett Huff, and by a brother.

Final rites were held at 1:30 p.m. at the Barr Memorial Chapel. The Rev. Paul D. Williamson officiated. Burial was in Soldiers' Circle of Oakland Cemetery.
