Ross E. Rickert

The service for Ross E. Rickert, 84, who died early Thursday, Feb. 11, were held Saturday at 10 a.m. at Pedrick Funeral Home in Douds, conducted by the Rev. Everett Day of Bethel Free Methodist Church. Burial was in Memorial Lawn Cemetery at Ottumwa.

He had entered Van Buren County Hospital in Keosauqua on Jan. 31.

He was the son of Frank and Ellen Gwin Rickert, born Dec. 31, 1886, in Tennessee. In 1911, he moved to the Cedar, Iowa, community where he worked as a farm hand. Since 1942, he had made his home with his brother and sister-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Howard Rickert of rural Selma.

Surviving besides his brother are four nieces and two nephews. Two brothers and two sisters preceded him in death.
