Mrs. Clarence Hemm

Florence M. Hemm, 62, wife of Clarence Hemm, died at her home in Eldon Tuesday, Feb. 9 at 4 a.m. following a long illness.

She was born Dec. 14, 1908, at Douds, the daughter of Oscar and Flora Brown Hootman.

She had lived in Eldon most of her life and was a member of the Eldon United Methodist Church and the Order of Eastern Star. She was also a past mother advisor of the Rainbow, on the Rainbow Board, and a member of the Grand Cross of Color.

She married Clarence J. Hemm on March 5, 1930. He survives.

Also surviving are two daughters, Mrs. Donald Pilcher of Washington and Mrs. Bonnie Creech of Eldon; three sons, Kenneth and Richard of Eldon and David of Grinnell; ten grandchildren; one sister, Mrs. Marguerite Russell of Minneapolis, Minn.; two brothers, Leslie Hootman of North Hollywood, Calif., and Krist Hootman of Rock Island, Ill.; her mother, Mrs. Flora McClure of Eldon; and one half-sister, Mrs. Jennie Rock of Eldon.

She was preceded in death by one sister.

The services were held Thursday, Feb. 11 at 1 p.m. at Campbell Funeral Home in Eldon with the Rev. John Nye officiating. Burial was in Eldon Cemetery.
