Vera E. Yates

The funeral service for Mrs. Vera E. Yates, 61, of route 2 Farmington, was held Monday, Feb. 15, at 2 p.m. in the Anson Community church. The Rev. Bruce Tonkinson officiated, assisted by Ray Mixer. Burial was in the Anson cemetery. Miller-Hofbauer Funeral Home, Farmington, was in charge.

Mrs. Yates died Saturdy, Feb. 13, at 2:30 p.m. in Sacred Heart hospital, Fort Madison after a lenghty illness.

She was born Oct. 3, 1909 at Anson, Mo., the daughter of Wortha and Mary E. Mayfield Wallingford.

She married Raymond Yates on Dec. 26, 1948 at Memphis, Mo. He preceded her in death.

A lifelong resident of the Anson community, she was a member of the Anson Community church and the Anson Ladies Aid Society.

Surviving are: her father, Wortha Wallingfor of Farmington; two brothers, Charles and Robert Wallingford of Farmington; three sisters, Mrs. Ivan (Mabel) Lee, Mrs. Harley (Helen) Seth, both of Farmington, and Mrs. Paul (Lois) Rider of Hilliard, Ohio.

In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her mother and step-mother.
