Mrs. Bessie Lee Bogle

Mrs. Bessie Lee Bogle, 97, died at 11:15 a.m. Monday, Feb. 1 in Calvin Manor Retirement Home in Des Moines, where she had lived the past five years.

The daughter of William and Rebecca True Barker, she was born March 7, 1894, she married Charles S. Bogle and they farmed near Mt. Zion until 1912, when the moved to Fairfield.

In 1915, they moved to Des Moines, where Mr. Bogle worked in the state agriculture and motor vehicle departments. He died in May, 1951.

They were members of the Mt. Zion Presbyterian Church, the Presbyterian Church in Fairfield where Mr. Bogle was superintendent of the Sunday school, and Westminister Presbyterian Church in Des Moines.

Mrs. Bogle was the last of her family, which comprised of four sisters and one brother. She is survived by nieces, nephews and cousins.

Services were held at 1 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 3, in the Catcott Funeral Home in Keosauqua, with the Rev. Millard Marshall of the Keosauqua Congregational Church in charge. Burial was in Evergreen Cemetery in Fairfield.
