Robert Snodgrass

Robert Snodgrass, 70, died at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, Feb. 3 in Van Buren County Memorial Hospital where he had been a patient since Friday. Death followed a long illness.

Mr. Snodgrass followed the occupation of farming. He also worked for Shaeffer Pen Company in Fort Madison for a number of years. Also he worked for the Municipal Light Plant in Keosauqua. He was an avid reader of history and current events and was well versed in Biblical Lore.

The son of Robert E. and Sarah Elliott Snodgrass, he was born Dec. 27, 1900 at What Cheer.

On March 30, 1927 he married Dorothy Cass, who survives.

He is also survived by one son, Bobby Snodgrass of Keosauqua and six grandchildren.

He was a member of the Keosauqua Christian Church.

Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 6 in the Keosauqua Christian Church, with the Rev. Millard Marshall, assisted by the Rev. James Douglass, officiating. Burial was in Bentonsport Cemetery.
