Mrs. Myrtle Hallowell

Mrs. Myrtle Hallowell, 86, of Salem died Thursday morning, Jan. 14, at Henry County Memorial hospital at Mt. Pleasant.

She was born Jan. 18, 1884, at Loraine, Ill., the daughter of John and Octava Whitham. On March 19, 1903, she was married to James Hallowell at Mt. Pleasant.

Surviving are one daughter, Mrs. Iliff (Gladys) Shumaker of Salem; two sons, Wayne of Mt. Pleasant and Dwight of Davenport; 15 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren and four great-great-grandchildren.
