George A. Lee

George Albert Lee, 58, Fairfield, died at 10:25 p.m. Friday, October 2, at Jefferson County Hospital where he had been a patient since Sept. 3. He had been in failing health several months.

Born Sept. 6, 1912, at Milton, he was the son of Austin and Blanche McLeland Lee. He was employed at J&B Plastics for 11 years.

He married Edna Bates on June 13, 1936, at Kahoka, Mo. She died June 1962. On Nov. 29, 1963, he married Ida M. Taylor, who survives. He was a member of the United Methodist Church.

Other survivors are three daughters, Mrs. Larry Woolums of Eugene, Ore., Mrs. Robert Mares of Denver, and Mrs. Larry Roberts of Fairfield; one stepson, James Taylor of Fairfield; five grandchildren; one half brother, Max Madden of Fairfield; two half sisters, Lucille Willey of New London and Dorothy Madden of Terre Haute, Ind.; and one stepsister, Yvonne Wheaton of Pulaski.

The funeral will be Monday at 2 p.m. at First United Methodist Church conducted by the Rev. Wilson Hyde. Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetary.

The body will be taken to the church at noon from Raymond Funeral Home.
