David D. Winters

David D. Winters, Sr., 80, Bonaparte Shady Rest Nursing Home, passed away Thursday, Aug. 13 at 5:30 P.M.

Funeral services were held at 3:00 P.M., Monday, Aug. 17 at the Wellborn Funeral Home in Milton. Burial at Sunnyside Cemetery at Milton.

David D. Winters, Sr. was born Aug. 31, 1889, near Douds, Iowa, the son of Ben and Elenora Elizabeth Snelling Winters. He married Hannah Elizabeth Garrett, Oct. 5, 1913. She preceded him in death in 1956.

Surviving are two sons, George and David, Jr., both of Washington State; two daughters, Bessie Parker of Bonaparte, and Evelyn Martinez of Ft. Worth, Texas. Also surviving are 26 grandchildren, 39 great-grandchildren, two sisters, Sadie Cox of Cedar Rapids and Maude Vickers of Lone Tree, and a brother, Ben Winters, Jr. of Sioux City.
