Funeral services for Mr. Glen L. Swartout, 48, Hillsboro, were held from the Beatty Funeral Chapel in Salem on Friday, Aug. 28, 1970 at 2:00 P.M. mr. Alexander Swan, Boston, Mass., was Christian Science Reader. Mr. Swartout entered into rest at his home Wednesday morning, Aug. 26 after a short illness.

Music was provided by Mrs. Forrest Fuhrer, organist. Casket escorts were Robert Anderson, Richard Benedict, Dale Boley, John Dodds, Milo Runyon and Dean Stecker, with interment in the Hillsboro Cemetery.

Mr. Swartout was born in Van Buren County, Sept. 26, 1921, the son of Arthur and Lulu Lemon Swartout.

On June 15, 1944 he was married to Iris Coleman at Hartford, Conn.

He was a Hillsboro mail carrier for the past 14 years, and also the Swartouts owned and operated the grocery store at Hillsboro.

He is survived by his wife, three sons, Karl Swartout and Robert Swartout, both of Indianapolis, Indiana, and James at home, and one daughter, Renee at home; one brother, Verl Swartout, Fairfield, and two granddaughters.

His parents and two brothers, Cecil and Lloyd, are deceased.
