Mrs. Flo Gleason

Mrs. Flo Gleason, 94, was born in Van Buren County on the Baird farm, southeast of Douds, the daughter of Nathan and Lorinda Jones Baird, and passed away Oct. 18, 1970, at the United Methodist Golden Age Home in Enid, Okla., where she had resided for several years. In fact she was the first guest of the Home.

On March 14, 1909, she was united in marriage to Harry Gleason, who preceded her in death in 1940. To this union was born two sons, Henry of Guthrie, Okla. and Edwin of Winter Park, Fla., and a daughter, Mrs. Roger b. (Miriam) Thompson of Knoxville, Tenn., all who survived, as do three grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, one daughter, one grandson and six brothers: Seth, Oscar, Rufus, Clay and Justus and three half-brothers, Jefferson, Luther and Howard, and one half-sister, Laura.

Mrs. Gleason moved to Oklahoma City in 1945. She was a retired nurse and former operator of the convalescent home. She was an active member of St. Lukes Methodist Church in Oklahoma City, and was a graduate of Wesley Methodist Memorial Hospital, Chicago in 1905, with a nursing degree.

Memorial service and burial was Oct. 20 in Oklahoma City.
