Mrs. Max Madden

Mrs. Max Madden, 38, 404 E. Fillmore, Fairfield, passed away at 12:05 Thursday, Oct. 22 at the Jefferson County Hospital following a seven-month illness.

Funeral services were held Saturday, Oct. 24 at 1 p.m. at the Weston Behner Funeral Home in charge of Rev. Ned Gillum. Burial was in Evergreen Cemetery.

Elma Norene Davis was born Dec. 7, 1931 in Jefferson County to Ralph and Grace Lee Davis. She married Max Madden May 5, 1951 and made her home in Fairfield community ever since.

She was employed as secretary at the Jefferson County Welfare office and was a member of the First Christian Church.

Besides her husband she is survived by three: Deborah, Melissa Jo and Maynard, all at home; her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Ralph Davis of Douds; her grandmother, Mrs. Maude Lee, Ottumwa and one sister, Mrs. Leota Fellows of Redondo Beach, Calif.
