Emerson P. Williams

Emerson P. Williams, Stockport, Iowa, was born in Henry County, Iowa, March 15, 1904. He died quite suddenly while having feed ground at the Hillsboro Elevator, Monday, Nov. 16, 1970.

He was married Dec. 10, 1928, to Mildred Landrum of New London. He was the son of Denver C. Williams, who died 1908 and Mary Parsons Williams, deceased, 1957.

He leaves to mourn his death, his wife, Mildred; sons, John of Humeston and James of Muscatine; grandchildren, Debra, Delbert, Denise, Deanna, Dorinda, Darcia and Douglas Joh; daughters-in-law Vivian, (Mrs. John Williams) and Isabell (Mrs. James Williams); his brother, Denver Williams, Mt. Pleasant, and sister, Mrs. Nellie DeGarmo, Oconomowac, Wisc., besides a host of other relatives and friends.

Funeral services were held at the Big Cedar (Taylor) Church with committal at the Pleasant Hill cemetery southeast of Mt. Pleasant. Rev. Chester Werft conducted the service with Mr. and Mrs. Kenneth Coleman accompanied by Mrs. Glen Hummel, singing "How Great Thou Art" and the "Old Rugged Cross".

Bearers were neighbors, James Miller, Floyd Dorothy, Glen Dorothy, Kenneth Watson, Rene Mahon, Ben Lee and nephews Tommy Owen and Merlyn Williams.
