Roland Newbold

Roland A. Newbold, age 64, 1023 Lake Street, Huntington Beach, Calif., passed away Dec. 13, 1970 at Hoag Hospital after a short illness. He is survived by his wife, Lucile Newbold, two daughters, Mrs. Linda Ingley, Santa Rosa, Calif., and Mrs. Joanne Booz, Huntington Beach, Calif.; a brother, Park Newbold, Cedar Rapids, Iowa; a sister, Mrs. Bessie Davidson, Davenport, Iowa; four grandchildren and one great-grandchild. He was preceded in death by his parents, Otis and Jessie Newbold and a brother Glen Newbold.

Mr. Newbold moved to Huntington Beach from Hillsboro, Iowa, his birthplace, 13 years ago and was employed by the city of Huntington Beach for 10 years until forced to retire due to ill health. He was a member of the Baptist Church, Hillsboro, Iowa; past master of Masonic Lodge 541, past patron of the Order of Eastern Star, Hillsboro, Iowa, and member of Kaaba Shrine Temple, Davenport, Iowa.

Services were conducted by Rev. Thomas Overton at 1:00 P.M. Dec. 16, 1970 at Smith's Mortuary, Huntington Beach, Calif. Graveside Masonic rites were conducted at the Good Shepherd Cemetery, Huntington Beach, Calif.
