Alvah R. Standley

Alvah R. Standley, 60, of Fairfield died Tuesday, Aug. 11 at 1:30 a.m. at Jefferson County Hospital. He had been in failing health for one year and serious condition for one week.

He was born Jan. 15, 1910 at Stockport the son of John P. and Ethel Watson Stanley. He was married to Pearl Huff on May 10, 1930. He had lived in the Fairfield community for over nine years and previously resided in Van Buren County. He was a member of the Cedar Christian Church and Fairfield Odd Fellows Lodge. He was a salesman for Farmcraft Company of Des Moines.

Survivors include his widow; one son, Jack Standley of Boone; two grandchildren; and two sisters, Mrs. Floyd Dorothy and Mrs. Paul Peck, both of Stockport.

Funeral services were Thursday Aug. 13 at 1:30 p.m. at Weston Behner Funeral Home, Fairfield. The Rev. D.O. Van Dyne officiated. Burial in Hillsboro Cemetery.
