Crystal Burgdorf

Mrs. Crystal Burgdorf, 47, of Route 2, Donnellson, died Wednesday, July 8, at 11:25 p.m. in Sacred Heart hospital at Ft. Madison. She had been in ill health for some time.

She was born Oct. 4, 1922, at Farmington, the daughter of Hugh and Daisy Hawk Bell. On Oct. 29, 1950, at Donnellson, she was married to Vernet Burgdorf, who survives.

She was a member of the First Christian church at Ft. Madison and served as pianist for the children's choir. She was also a committed member of the Farm Bureau Women.

Besides her husband, she is survived by three children, Patricia, 10, Pamela, 6, and Lowell, 5, all at home; her father, and a sister, Ruth Bell, of Burlington.

Her mother preceded her in death.

The funeral service was held Saturday, July 11, at 2 p.m. in the First Christian church at Fort Madison, with the Rev. Gerald Sawyer officiating. Burial was in the Sharon cemetery.
