Walter M. Helmick

Walter M. Helmick, 63, of Argyle, died Saturday, July 18, at 6 P.M., in Sacred Heart Hospital, fort Madison. Death was sudden, he had been ill 11 days.

He was born Jan. 18, 1907, at Gorin, Mo., the son of Otto and Lena Allgood Helmick.

On March15, 1930 at Fort Madison he married Mary Pearl Anthony who survives.

He was a life resident of Lee County and was a farmer.

Surviving in addition to his wife; one son, Walter Lee Helmick of Argyle; one daughter, Mrs. Jerry (Arlene) Kemper of Argyle; one brother, Elmer Helmick of Montrose; two sisters, Mrs. Roy Brown and Mrs. James Smith, both of Fort Madison; and five grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, one brother and one sister.

The funeral service was held Tuesday, July 21, at 1:30 P.M. in the Miller-Hofbauer Funeral Home, Donnellson. Elder B.G. Hunter officiated. Burial was in Oakland Cemetery, Fort Madison.
