Perry M. Mendenhall

Perry M. Mendenhall, 90, of Salem, died at 4 p.m. Monday, July 13 at Holland Rest Home at Mt. Pleasant.

He was born Oct. 19, 1879, the son of John and Cynthia Beard Mendenhall. On Dec. 25, 1902, he married Elsie VanDorin of Salem.

He was a retired farmer and had lived his entire life in the Cedar Creek Friends community. He was a member of the Cedar Creek Friends church.

Surviving are one daughter, Mrs. Orlendes (Irma) Ross, Mt. Pleasant; a foster daughter, Mrs. Carl (Lucille) Slagle, Burlington; five grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and a sister, Mrs. Fred (Rachel) Brown, Salem.

The funeral service was held Wednesday, July 15 at 2 p.m. at the Beatty-Foster Chapel, Salem. Rev. Ardith Anderson officiated. Burial was in Cedar Creek Friends cemetery.
