Isaac N. Elder

Isaac N. Elder, 86, died shortly before midnight Monday, June 29 at Van Buren County Memorial Hospital, Keosauqua, where he had been a patient for a month.

The son of Alfred and Harriett Holmes Elder, he was born Oct. 6, 1883 on a farm south of Milton. On June 26, 1904, he married Edna Fosnot at Keosauqua. Their 66th wedding anniversary was last Friday.

He was a farmer until he retired and moved into Keosauqua in 1953. For two years he was Keosauqua's city marshal.

He is survived by his wife, a foster daughter, Mrs. Martin Anderson of Park Rapids, Minn.; several nieces and nephews.

The funeral service will be at 2 P.M. Thursday at the Catcott Funeral Home with the Rev. Millard Marshall in charge. Burial will be in the Fellows Cemetery.
