Mrs. Lena Cook

Mrs. Lena L. Cook, 65, died at Fairfield Convalescent Home on Wednesday, May 6 at 5:30 a.m.

She was born in Keosauqua on Aug. 22, 1904, the daughter of Harvey and Cleva Wallace Wiley. On March 24, 1923, she married Charles Daniel Cook, who preceded her in death. A son, Robert Lane Cook, died Aug. 14, 1965.

Survivors include four daughters, Maxine Greenfield of Fairfield, Marjorie Bruccini of Omaha, Mary Hunter of Milford and Betty Leydens of Birmingham; five sons, Charles of Keokuk, John of Eldon, Ned and Larry of Milton and Kenneth with the Air Force at Laredo, Texas; 16 grandchildren and one great-grandchild; five brothers, Robert and Edward Wiley of St. Louis, Dale and Kenneth Wiley of Keosauqua, and Jack Wiley of Stockport; and four sisters, Bessie Hammel of Keokuk, Evelyn Schultz of Keosauqua, Edna Bartholomew of Stockport and Mary Baker of Keosauqua.

The funeral service was held Friday, May 8 at 2 p.m. at the Christian Church conducted by the Rev. James McKean. Burial was in Sunnyside Cemetery.

Wellborn Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements.
