Mrs. Cecil Manning

Mrs. Cecil P. Manning, 79, died Tuesday, May 5 at the Jefferson Square Manor in Ottumwa after a lengthy illness.

Mrs. Manning was born Dec. 22, 1890, in Jefferson County, the daughter of Ensley and Carrie Giberson Canaday. She was married Nov. 2, 1916, to Earl Manning.

Survivors include one brother, Fred Canaday of Eldon; two sisters, Mrs. Ella Popejoy of Pleasant Plain and Mrs. Gladys Pencil of Fairfield. She was preceded in death by four brothers and six sisters.

She was a member of the Seventh Day Adventist Church, and a former resident of the Bethany Home in Fairfield.

Last rites were held Thursday, May 7 at 1:30 p.m. at the Burch Funeral Home in Birmingham with the Rev. W.G. Lowewen in charge. Burial was in Stockport Cemetery near Stockport.
