John Gibson
John Gibson, age 78, son of R.A. and Mary Taylor Gibson, was born Aug. 1, 1891 at Milton, Iowa and died at 9 a.m. April 21, 1970 at the Davis County Hospital in Bloomfield, where he had been a patient about four weeks.
On July 7, 1920 he married Mabel Conner at Girard, Kansas.
He worked as a barber, a painter and meat cutter, mainly in the Milton community where he lived most of his life.
He was a veteran of World War I and was a member of Old Gold Chapter 19 Disabled American Veterans.
He was preceded in death by his parents, four brothers and two sisters.
Survivors include his wife of Milton; one brother, Alvin, of Kalamazoo, Mich.; five nephews; one niece; and a sister-in-law, Mrs. Sophia Newell of Kalamazoo, Michigan; other relatives and friends.
Services were held Thursday, April 23 at the Wellborn Funeral Home at Milton, Rev. Herbert E. Phillips officiated. Interment was in Sunnyside Cemetery.
