Walter Bennett

Walter Bennett, 82, died at 11:30 p.m. Wednesday, May 6 in Van Buren County Memorial Hospital where he had been a patient since May 4. He was a retired farmer and spent his entire life in the Mt. Sterling area.

The son of John and Hannah (...y) Bennett, he was born Oct. (..), 1887, in Scotland County, Mo. On Jan. 27, 1909, he married Allena Madden, who survives.

He is also survived by one son, Lloyd Bennett of Mt. Sterling, and by seven daughters, Mrs. Lillie Kimmel of Bettendorf, Mrs. Rachel Creek and Mrs. Phyllis Linn of New Windsor, Ill., Mrs. Esther Sedore of Keosauqua, Mrs. Ruth Alexander and Mrs. Ellen Lancaster of Mt. Sterling, Mrs. . . . (remainder missing)
